Thanks MixCode studio for inviting me to join this exciting collaboration. With 13 other artists, we were briefed to create 5-10 sec logo animation for VIVA campaign. VIVA is a new series of smart scooters developed by Taiwanese company Gogoro. When I received the brief, I decided to use vivid /bold colour and simple geometry to present the 'movement' when riding the scooters.
As the scooters are designed to be small, convenient and targeting the young workers, I choose four joyful colours and choreographed different type of playful typography animation throughout the whole clips. The main challenge for me during the production is that I worked on this full 3D project aside my full-time job.
To make the process more efficient, I sticked on the concept I setup in the beginning, scheduled all the possible time I need for each steps, made sure I shared the WIPs before the deadline and kept communicating with the producer from MixCode studio. The client and directors have been very happy with the design/concept from the very beginning which made the process even smoother.
